First Aid at Work Courses Watford

All of our Workplace courses meet the requirements set out by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE). Catapult Services are certified to deliver OFQUAL regulated qualifications and our workplace courses meet these requirements.

Significant changes to the first aid regulations came into force on the 1st October 2013. This significantly changed the role the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and their approval role.

Once you have identified your training needs, using the information provided HERE you should choose the appropriate training to meet your requirements which is likely to be a combination of any of the following:

  • An ‘off the peg’ training qualification (e.g. a three-day First aid at work course or a one-day Emergency first aid at work course);
  • An ‘off the peg’ qualification with additional training (e.g. a First aid at work course with Automated External Defibrillator training) or;
  • A bespoke training structure, customised to meet specific first aid needs.  If this is the case or you can’t see a suitable course below that meets your specific needs, please contact us to discuss your specific requirements.


First Aid at Work (FAW)

This is the initial first aid at Work training course which includes the EFAW and also equips the first-aider to apply first aid to a range of specific injuries and illness.

This is a 18 hour course which is assessed by an independent practical exam that meets the Health and Safety (first aid) regulations 1981.  The certificate is valid for 36 months.


First Aid at Work - Annual Update

This is an annual refresher on your first aid at Work training. 

The Health and Safety Executive recommends annual refresher training to keep first aid knowledge and skills up to date.


First Aid at Work - Refresher

This is the refresher course which is required every 36 months by those who are already first Aid at Work trained first aiders.

This is a 12 hour course, assessed by an independent practical exam at the end, which meets the Health and Safety (first aid) regulations 1981.
