Paediatric First Aid Training
The requirements set out by the Office for Standards in Education (OFSTED) state that a Paediatric first aid qualification must be a minimum of at least 12 contact hours (distance learning is not acceptable).
The course content must follow the Early Years Framework Stage (EYFS). Our Paediatric first aid qualification meets this OFSTED requirement and we are proud to show the OFSTED logo indicating this. Please be aware that, despite the claims of many large training providers, OFSTED does not give approval for Paediatric first aid courses.
Please ensure that the course meets the requirements of OFSTED and EYFS.
The following courses are designed for people responsible for children within the school, nursery, after-school or weekend club environment:
2 Day Paediatric First Aid Qualification
A minimum 12 hour course covering Basic Life Support for children and babies, and management of some common paediatric first aid problems, which is a tutor assessed course.
This course meets the OFSTED requirements for child-minders and those working with children (as outlined in the recently revised Early Years Foundation Programme).
1 Day Paediatric First Aid Foundation
A 6 hour course covering Basic Life Support for children and babies and management of some common paediatric first aid scenarios. This is a tutor assessed course.
This 6 hour course does not meet the requirements set out by OFSTED - you will see other significant first aid providers stating that their 6 hour course meets the requirements of OFSTED - sadly, this cannot be the case!
